Jupiter 125 Specifications

The TVS Jupiter 125 is powered by a 124.8cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine equipped with ET-Fi (Ecothrust Fuel Injection) technology. It produces 8.15 PS of maximum power at 6,500 rpm and a peak torque of 10.5 Nm at 4,500 rpm, transmitted via a CVT (continuously variable transmission) that keeps city riding effortless. The ARAI-certified mileage is 57.27 kmpl - real-world figures from owners in city traffic range from 48-52 kmpl, which is competitive for the 125cc class.

On the engineering side, the Jupiter 125 uses a telescopic hydraulic front fork and a mono-tube gas-filled rear shock absorber with 3-step preload adjustment - the rear can be tuned for solo or loaded two-up riding, which is a useful touch. Braking is handled by a 130mm drum at the front (disc on upper variants) and a 130mm drum at the rear, both linked through TVS's Synchronized Braking System. The 90/90-12 tubeless tyres on diamond-cut alloy wheels keep rolling resistance low.

Kerb weight is 108 kg - neither the lightest nor the heaviest in the segment. Seat height is 765mm, accessible for riders of average Indian height. The 5.1-litre fuel tank is on the smaller side but is positioned in the front apron with an external filler lid, so you don't need to unlock the seat to top up. Ground clearance is 163mm, adequate for broken roads but not rough village tracks. Underseat storage is the standout specification: 33 litres, the largest in the 125cc scooter segment, with space for two ISI-certified full-face helmets - a genuine first in the class when it launched.
