The Royal Enfield Bullet 650 is powered by the same 647.95cc air/oil-cooled SOHC parallel-twin engine that does duty in the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. This engine has been well-proven over several years and hundreds of thousands of kilometres in Indian conditions - a significant point in the Bullet 650's favour. It produces 47.04 PS at 7,250 rpm and 52.3 Nm at 5,650 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a wet multi-plate slipper clutch.

Suspension is handled by 43mm telescopic forks up front (120mm travel) and preload-adjustable twin rear shock absorbers (90mm travel) - the same setup as the Interceptor 650. Braking uses 320mm front and 300mm rear discs with dual-channel ABS as standard on all variants. The 19-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels are unique to the Bullet 650 within the 650 range.
