First car shopping - please excuse the beginner questions

Hi, I'm Isha - just started the process of shortlisting my first car after years of scooters and cabs, so please bear with the beginner questions I'll probably be asking here.

Budget's modest and I mostly need something reliable for city driving with the occasional highway trip to see family. Really glad to find a forum where people share real ownership experiences instead of just showroom brochures.

Welcome! Honestly the best advice I got when I was shopping was to test drive in actual city traffic, not just the showroom loop - a lot of cars feel great on a smooth demo route and completely different in daily bumper-to-bumper. Happy to compare notes once you have a shortlist.
