6,000 km on the Xpulse 200 4V - the 4V engine makes a real difference
Did a longer Himalayan-adjacent trip a couple months back and I'm now at roughly 6,000 km on my Xpulse 200 4V, so sharing a proper update rather than just trip photos. Upgraded from a friend's older 2V model I used to borrow occasionally, and the difference in engine punch is honestly noticeable, this one pulls with a lot more confidence in the mid-range which matters a lot when you're climbing broken mountain roads loaded with luggage.
Mileage has been reasonably good, hovering around 48-50 kmpl in mixed city and highway riding, which I'm fairly happy with given how much off-road use this bike also sees. The stock suspension setup strikes a nice balance too - compliant enough to soak up broken city roads and speed breakers, but still composed enough on actual trails that I haven't felt the need to touch it. Trying to decide between this and the 210? The spec comparison on this site lays it out better than most places I checked.
My main complaint is sustained highway speeds - past 90-100 for long stretches, the vibrations through the pegs and bars get noticeable, and the brakes feel just about adequate rather than confidence-inspiring at those speeds. Not a dealbreaker given what this bike is built for, but worth knowing if you're planning long highway stints. Anyone running bar-end weights or aftermarket pads to deal with either of these?
