Been going back and forth for weeks trying to decide between this, a Creta, and a Venue, weighing whether to stretch the budget or not. What keeps pulling me toward this one is the safety story - it was the first Indian-made car to get a 5-star Global NCAP rating, and the newer local crash test agency has apparently reconfirmed a full 5-star score for both adult and child occupant protection more recently. Six airbags and stability control standard on every single variant, including the base one, is genuinely hard to find elsewhere at this price, which currently runs roughly 7.4 to 14.5 lakh ex-showroom depending on trim.On paper the rest stacks up well too - over 200mm of ground clearance which should be great for the potholes near my place, twin screens with wireless phone connectivity, and a 360 camera even on the mid variants I'm told. Mileage looks reasonable as well, high teens on petrol and low-to-mid twenties on diesel per official figures.What's stopping me from booking one is the brand's reputation, fair or not, for niggles - electricals, infotainment glitches, that sort of thing. Would love to hear from actual owners here on whether that reputation still holds in 2026, or if it's mostly outdated internet folklore at this point, and whether the Creta or Venue would honestly serve me better for the extra money either way.

Before you decide, drive the diesel and the turbo petrol back to back if you can, they feel quite different in daily use and the diesel tends to hold its value better for resale in most cities. Also if you're considering CNG at all it's worth asking about, the claimed figures are close to 24 km per kg which could change your running cost math significantly if you do high monthly kilometres, and it might tip the scales versus the Creta for you.

Owned mine for a little over two years now, roughly 32,000 km, and honestly the safety kit was the exact reason I bought it too - have a young kid and it mattered to me more than badge value. No major issues to report, one minor infotainment freeze early on that a software update fixed. The extra ground clearance has genuinely saved my bumper more times than I can count on the broken roads in my city.

Owned an older generation of this one for three years before moving on, and I'd be lying if I said it was trouble-free - had two instances of the infotainment unit needing a full reset and one sensor-related dashboard warning that turned out to be nothing but still needed a service visit to clear. The newer facelifted ones seem to have ironed out a lot of that though, from what friends who bought recently tell me, so don't let my older experience scare you off entirely.
